The sound which comes from this Bluetooth speaker is wonderful. It has a deep bass and the midtones or the tones of the regular human voice are very clear. I am glad to see that this speaker has a flat base lengthwise so that it doesn't roll around. I say this because a slightly smaller JBL does not have this flat base and so I imagine it is supposed to stand on one of the ends. This speaker is a wonderful addition to all my Bluetooth sources. I cannot comment on battery life because I haven't had the speaker very long and battery life, not battery charge, could be years. Most often I do not disconnect the speaker from a power source, only occasionally. As basically my first impression is that this is a great speaker!

I use to have a pair of Charge 3s for about 4-5 years and loved them. I took them everywhere I could the beach, rafting, picnics, BBQs, and tailgating. I eventually gave them to family and decided to upgrade to Charge 4s as the Charge 5 was too expensive and I already owned a Xtreme 2 (Connect+ life problems). I got to say I love them more than the 3s. Bass is amazing, for some reason it’s fuller and travels further. The battery life is the same but I’m starting to think it maybe better than the 3s as I’m always shocked how much battery I have left after using it. It isn’t a huge upgrade but it’s definitely noticeable. I’ve owned these for about 6 months now and I hope they last me as long as the 3s did which are still going strong after being gifted to my family who works home renovations.

I've been through a few different speakers now looking for a portable solution that I could move back and forth between my boat and ATV and also take other places. I've found a few I liked OK and a few that I didn't care for, but this may finally be what I'm looking for. Even though it's a relatively small speaker, the sound is big. It has a good bass response and there's more depth than I've gotten out of previous portable small speakers I've tried, and it's also louder without distorting. Battery life is outstanding so far. I've used it for around 15 hours without charging, and when I plugged it in, I still had three solid power lights. I'm very happy with this little speaker and will likely buy a second to pair with it.

I bought this unit to use as a teaching aid with my private piano students. But, it REALLY proved its capabilities when I used it in my Church. At a funeral where I played piano & organ & sang, the family wanted a special song played. The only source I could find was a YouTube link. I played the song on my iPad with the Bluetooth link to the JBL Charge 4 Speaker. My Church has a rated seating capacity of 961 congregants. This speaker FILLED the entire area with rich, resonant music; it sounded as if it were patched through the premium Yamaha, built-in sound system.

My dad's favorite hobby is fishing, I bought him a lot of fishing equipment for father's day, and a few days later I saw him seeing this speaker on his Amazon page, well I bought it for him and it turned out to be the best gift I could get him. He likes it because it is loud and has a long battery charge, so he can use it at work and don't worry about the speaker dying before his 12hr shift ends. We haven't tried it at the beach yet, but I have high expectations because it has good reviews.

I bought a Bose speaker for like $200 and it was absolute garbage so I returned it and tried this out. The charge 4 speaker is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to audio quality! Its sound output is crystal clear, with deep bass and crisp highs. My only critique is that the app doesn’t allow you to change the speakers base or treble. You are stuck with what it sounds like out of the box. Otherwise the build feels durable and the battery life hasn’t been an issue. I can't recommend it enough!

I really like this speaker. It has a great sound and volume, much better than a previous speaker I had of another brand that was more expensive! I love that it lays on its side instead of standing upright, you don’t have to worry about knocking it over 🤩 I have a disappointment, but it’s not about the speaker itself, but the JBL App for the speaker. The app is supposed to have an equalizer feature, but all it had after downloading was the ability to update and sync with other speakers. That said I would buy this speaker again. The quality is very good, especially for the price.

I highly recommend this product. I bought two, and the sound is fantastic, the quality is superb, and I’ve had it for several months, and although I don’t use it all the time, I have yet to have to recharge them. Very high marks, across-the-board. However, one area I wish was better is when I sync up the two speakers using the app. It gives you the option of putting the two speakers on the stereo mode, which sounds amazing. However, if you’re still on your phone, and happen to switch to some thing that has sound, or go back to the app, it drops the stereo mode and reverts back to, the same sound coming from each speaker. Once in stereo mode, I wish it would stay in stereo mode no matter what.
